Brown Sugar Pound Cake
March 6, 2019
I caved. I bought another loaf pan.
I didn’t want to, but there are too many recipes requiring two pans that I had to.
If you are looking for good quality, relatively inexpensive bake ware, check out your local thrift store (we go to Value Village). I have found several good quality, heavy duty cookie sheets for $4 a piece. I also found 2 glass cake stands for less than $8 each and one has a dome lid!
I also found a 9×5 aluminum loaf pan for $4 so I bought it, knowing full well I would make use of it.
Now that I have two pans I wanted to make this loaf. It looked like a simple recipe and with the flavour of the Butterscotch Cookies, I was looking forward to trying it.
This bake came together easily, and I poured the batter in to the pans and had them in the oven in no time.
Now, I know I have two different types of pans: dark non-stick and aluminum.
I was prepared for the aluminum to take longer – and it did. The sides were also crispier and it had a flat top.
The dark non-stick had a more domed shape top and was not as crispy on the outside. The inside was nearly identical.
I have to say, I will not repeat this one. I don’t know if I was too looking forward to it or what, but it just wasn’t there.
There was not a lot of flavour. The texture and density were good, it was just missing… something.
Not so Bakeable.
