Simple Baked Goods

Irish Soda Bread

March 17, 2019

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

We like to celebrate St Patrick’s Day around here. The kids are on March Break and so hubby is usually off with us.

We all wear green, we wear funny hats and headbands and we drink – the kids don’t but we do!

I also make these amazing Irish Cupcakes that we don’t share with the kids.

I usually make an Irish soda bread that is plain but seeing that there is a recipe in this book we are trying it today.

There are caraway seeds and raisins in this recipe

These recipes are pretty simple, mix the ingredients and bake for an hour or so.

This is no exception.

It was very sticky when it came together, and we lost a few raisins on the way, but on the pan it looked good.

It smelled really good too while it was baking.

When it was done it looked like the photo!

The texture was not too dense, and the flavour of the caraway seeds and raisins was amazing.

The kids weren’t to fussy about it, but my husband really liked it.

Again, we left it on the counter and gradually sliced and ate our way through it over a few days.

This will become my St Patrick’s Day Irish Soda Bread going forward

No doubt, Bakeable!
