6th Birthday Cake Request

For his birthday last year my youngest wanted a donut cake.

Not a cake made of donuts, but a cake that looks like a donut, with small donuts on the outside.

OK, we can try that!

I needed a boatload of sprinkles so I ordered 1 kg off of Amazon and made a simple 2 layer box cake in round pans.

Once again I consulted with Pinterest on how to make this work.

For the smaller donuts, I bought them from the grocery store and used a simple milk and icing sugar glaze/frosting to sprinkle them myself and then used the blue frosting to attach them to the cake.

I simply used parchment to block the parts I didn’t want overed in sprinkles and voila!

He loved it!
